Gallion illustration

Here is a illustration I have developed for the Gallion. I produced a illustration for a written piece of work for the Gallion  called Unplanned Penetrations by Elizabeth Chintua-Chigbu. I chose this written piece of text to work with because when I was reading it I felt a connection with the written piece of work. I developed an idea on how to develop a illustration based around the text quiet quickly. I Drew the illustration then transferred the illustration to Photoshop to add colour to my illustration.

I also added the link to the written piece of text below.

Illustrated lettering wall paper

This is my wall paper I developed with one of the illustrated lettering images I produced from one of the drawings I drew at the Horniman Museum. I only used one image for the wall paper because the image I used does not leave to much of a empty space between the copied images. I used the Photoshop version of the drawing because the image has more of a graphic element to it. I also designed the images to link with each other like a pattern. I used the horizontal tool on Photoshop to make the same image connect with each other like a chain.

Photoshop coloured illustrated lettering

These are the two illustrated lettering images I coloured on Photoshop using the same colour combinations I used for the water coloured versions. I intent to use these two illustrations for my wall paper layout.

Water coloured lettering illustrations

Here are two water coloured illustrations I developed of the two illustrated lettering drawings. I coloured the two similar to colour combinations I used before for the previous drawings based around which colour combinations worked best.

Further developed lettering illustrations

Here are two more lettering illustrations I did based around two of the previous drawing I did based around objects within the Horniman museum. I developed two of my drawings further by photocopying the two drawings to a smaller scale and tracing them. I then added more to the images to add more to the image. For the first one I added Venus fly traps, for the second I added lighting and a pair of opened up hands. I intent to colour them using watercolour paint and Photoshop.

Coloured pencil illustrated lettering

These are the three pencil coloured versions of my original illustrations. I coloured the pencil versions differently to my pen and Photoshop versions to test out different colour combinations and to see how the illustrations would develop in colouring pencil. Some of the colours used are similar to the pen and Photoshop versions, but the colouring tones are different and are involved with different colour combinations.

Photoshop coloured illustrated lettering drawings

Here are the three Photoshop coloured versions of the three illustrated lettering images. I coloured the drawings similar to the coloured pen versions of the same illustrations. I wanted to test how the colours would develop through Photoshop compared to my pen versions.
I intent to develop coloured pencil versions of the three illustrations, which I will colour differently compared to the Photoshop and pen versions.

Illustrated lettering coloured pen drawings

Here are the three illustrated lettering I produced based around three drawings I did at the Horniman Museum in colouring pen. I intended to add colour combinations that match each other like using different tones of blue, green, red and purple together, so the colours would go well together.
I intent to transfer the original drawings onto Photoshop and colour them the same to test out different ways of colouring these illustrations and how they would compare together.

Museum drawn Illustrated lettering drawings

Here are Three illustrated lettering images I had developed based around the museum drawings I produced at the Horniman Museum. I have kept the original drawings and added to them adding a lettering format to the images and adding effects like waves, fire and plant life to the images. I also added to some of the basic forms of the original objects drawn within the images like a snakes head.

Horniman Museum drawings

Here is a series of drawing I produced at the Horniman Museum of animal corpses, life like models of animals and a mask within the museums collection. I intent to develop three of these drawings into illustrated lettering images.

Illustrated lettering

Here are some illustrated lettering I developed based around the letters L, K and A. For the first image I was testing out different ways of presenting different forms of lettering. The other three images are artistic illustrated lettering I developed, working around different ideas of creating artistic forms of lettering.
